Weight

A ball in the belly.

A ball of stone.

Heavy and rocky, set in my bones.

I wish for closure, to find my amends.

The weight can’t be lifted

Clenches and stands

Shake it off, girl

Murmur with me

Old skin sits tight

and snakes are my gift.

Love, grant me one thing

The passage to fly

The canyon is open

with a lover’s eye.
